Update March 2021 – Part 1

Hello everyone!

It’s time for the first update of the month. Let’s go!

GAMEPLAY UPDATE : DUEL

Fix an issue with sniper damage when using the standard robot.

Robot health pickups drop when dying:

  • Light robot -> 2×20 HP
  • Standard robot ->3×20 HP
  • Heavy robot -> 4×20 HP

Respawn delay:

  • Light robot -> 3.0 seconds (old 1 seconds).
  • Standard robot -> 2.5 seconds (old 1 seconds).
  • Heavy robot -> 2.0 seconds (old 1 seconds).

MAPS

DUEL-Ross_128b

Fix an issue where the game can’t start a game.

DUEL-Creuset

Structural change to enable the heavy robot to run everywhere.

DM-BlutArena

Death volume added not to allow players to teleport outside the map.

DM-Spacedock

Death volume added to not allow players to teleport outside the map.

DUEL-Fuse

Plasma and Rocket pickups location update + Health pickups & some collision fixed.

DUEL-Laboratory

It’s the new version of the DUEL-REMAINING prototype map. The level art and lighting aren’t finished, but the map structure is definitive. We release it at this stage for this Saturday’s Invitational 🙂

WEAPONS

  • Instagib: Firerate 1.0 (old 0.85s).
  • Melee: Firerate 2.0 (old 1.0s).
  • Damage: -8hp/tick (old -5hp/tick).
  • Rocket Launcher: Air Rocket detection reworked.
  • Shotgun: Shells up to 12 (old 8).
  • Electrogun: Beam detection updated.
  • Plasma: Firerate decreate to 0.125s (old 0.115) / Plasma alt-fire: projectile explosion delay is longer.

During the week, we will update DUEL maps to include minimaps for casters (that means no structural changes). You can do your training, and maps will not be different for the tournament.

Update February 2021 – Part 2

Hello everyone!

Today we update the game with new requested settings by the community, maps update, and more. Let’s go!

GAMEPLAY UPDATE

  • Rocket Launcher: The minimal damage taken is now 10 HP.
  • Grenade Launcher: The minimal damage taken is now 8 HP.
  • Sniper: Reload time is 1.75s (old 2s).
  • FlashRifle: A delay added between primary fire and alt-fire.

CAMERA

  • Dodge and wall-dodge camera animation are slower.

SETTINGS

  • No Gibs settings added: Available from the “Display Menu.”

 

  • Players skin saturation: You can now control the color saturation of your robots:

Your settings will reset, sorry for that 🙂

Team bases are now symmetric + teleporters and elevators fixed.

New level art with some small structural and pickup placement changes.

FIXES

  • Bots are now available on duel.
  • Duel: fix an issue where the game won’t start.
  • Collision added on assets library map_002a_b_c.
  • Sensitivity converter values.

Hello everyone!

It’s time for the patch note. Let’s go!

GAMEPLAY UPDATE

DUEL

Characters balancing. Now light, standard and heavy characters have their own stamina reloading time.

  • Light: 10 seconds.
  • Standard: 12 seconds.
  • Heavy: 14 seconds.
WEAPONS

Sniper damage managed based on the characters types:

  • Light: -10% of damages.
  • Standard: 0% of damages.
  • Heavy: +10% of damages.

TECHNICAL UPDATE

STEAM API

We updated the last version. There are no changes for players, but an advantage for server hosters. It’s now easier to have a server ID and get referenced in the server master list.

FAIR PING

As our tournaments are open to North America and Europe, we needed something to allow players to play with the same latency. We worked on a new feature that adds input latency to the player with the lowest ping. A small example to explain how it works:
PlayerA has 100 ms, and PlayerB has 35 ms. Basically, on competition, PlayerB has a severe advantage. The server calculates the difference between players’ pings and adds the difference to the advantaged player.
So PlayerB has a ping of 35 ms + 65 ms of input lag.
This feature isn’t activated by default. Administrators need to start servers with “?PingRegulation=1” to be applied.

LIGHTING

We are working on new skin materials for weapons and characters, and to have better lighting with them, we have to update all maps by adding new lights. We are currently testing the Instagib weapon. Take a look:

MAPS: STRUCTURALS CHANGES

DM-SPACEDOCK

A room added with a new pickup distribution. The objective is to have a better balance of the map regarding hitscan weapons.

Middle extension, give more protection for players spawns:

CTF-SPACEDOCK

Same structural changes as DM-Spacedock but for teams 🙂

CTF-BASKETBALL

Global structural change. The map is scaled for 3v3 players (instead of 5v5)

DUEL-CREUSET

Map extended with a new room

DUEL-FUSE

Map extended with new rooms. It represents an area increase of 40%.

Happy New Year everyone!

To begin this year, we release a full rework of the level art of CTF-AndAction and a new meta for duel game type! Are you ready?

UPDATE: CTF-AndAction

We release an update of CTF-AndAction.
The map is a bit bigger with respawns rooms behind the flags:

DUEL MODE: A NEW META

After analyzing 2020 duel tournaments, we have arranged the perks to have a better balancing for this game mode:

Light Robot perks:

  1. Blindness swapped with Xray.
  2. Ghost swapped with Freon.
  3. Shield swapped with Heal.

Standard Robot perks:

  1. Smoke (no change).
  2. Freon swapped with Ghost.
  3. Teleporter swapped with Shield.

Heavy Robot perks:

  1. Gas swapped with Teleporter.
  2. Heal swapped with Gas.
  3. Xray swapped with Blindness.

FIXES

  • Duel mode: Carnage pickup is now replaced by a +50HP (and no longer by a rocket launcher).
  • DM-Mars: New pickups distribution.
  • Damages popup: They are smaller and now colored depending on the damage dealt.
  • Sounds: Some attenuation filters for dodges / wall-dodges / jump / super jump / teleporter were adjusted.
  • Smoke perk: Fixed an issue where the x-ray does not work.
  • Ghost perk: the opacity of the character’s skin is corrected.
  • Some logs added to be able to analyze some rare game crash.

Hello everyone!

It’s update time! This update mainly concerns the DUEL mode with DUEL-ROSS updated, perks balancing, as well as weapons! Are you ready?

MAPS

  • DUEL-ROSS: We are releasing a new version of the map, with no structural changes but graphics update.

The previous version:

  • DM-BlutArena: Collision fix + items location rearrangement.
  • DM-Mars:  items location rearrangement.
  • RC-FasterThanTheMist: Collision fix.
  • RC-Overpath: Texture loading fix.
  • RC-Grindstone: Added energy items.

GAMEPLAY

DUEL

The duel mode can be played on maps intended for the “deathmatch” mode. The “carnage” item was then deactivated, leaving an important place on the map empty. So we implemented the following:

  • When the game detects a carnage item in duel mode, it will replace it with a rocket launcher slot.
  • If there is a rocket launcher item provided on the map, it will then be replaced by an item of 50 HP.
PERKS (GAME TYPE: DUEL)
  • Freon: The freezing time has been reduced by one second + fixed an issue where the freon perks weren’t deactivated when the enemy was hit (it deactivates automatically).
  • Gas: New balance, you will now have two grenades.
  • Smoke: New balance, you will now have two grenades + an additional functionality: when your enemy enters the radius of the smoke, you can see their points of life.
  • Teleporter: Reduced the number of teleportation and the expulsion force on the teleport point.
  • Ghost: Balanced against the X-RAY asset. The X-RAY can no longer detect a robot whose “ghost” attribute is active.
WEAPONS
  • Electrogun: Increased damage frequency.
  • SMG: Reduced spread and primary fire rate.
  • Shotgun: Ammunition number reduced to 8 (previously 12).
  • Rocket Launcher: Ammo count increased to 10 (previously 8).
  • Flashrifle: Combo damage reduced to 150 (previously 200).
  • Sniper: The rate of fire is now slower (2 previously 1).

FIXES

  • Fixed menu return when connecting to a server.
  • Fix for “hidden weapons” functionality.
